ROOFING COMPANY RUNNER/CONSTRUCTION ASST

Job Description

Great opportunity to get involved in the construction industry by learning the products and processes associated with roofing/exterior home improvement.  We are a family-owned business located in Dedham with customers throughout the Boston area and South Shore.   We are looking for candidates with a proven work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Pick up needed material from vendor(s) and deliver to jobsites.
• Return leftover materials to the supplier after jobs are completed.
• Depending on skills may be tasked to troubleshoot or complete minor repairs or adjustments.
• Clean up project sites as needed.
• Additional errands, deliveries, or pickups at the direction of project managers
• Tow equipment (e.g., trailers) to/from office, job sites and “dump”.
• Other duties as required.

Desired Qualifications

• Able to lift ~80 pounds.
• Must have valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
• Able to work with project managers, office staff and subcontractors.  
• Able to switch from one task to the next efficiently.
• Able to work in a sometimes fast-paced environment.
• Must be dependable and have reliable transportation to office.
• Comfortable driving in and around Boston and the South Shore.
• Ability to communicate with both project managers and subcontractors effectively and respectfully.

Desired Education and Experience

• High School Diploma
• 1-2 years construction or related experience
