Home Remodeling Step by Step Process:

This project started with the homeowner calling and asking us to come out and talk to them about roofing and siding on their home that was built in the 80s.

While walking around with the homeowner, I noticed that several pieces of siding were face nailed. The homeowner explained to me that when he sees a piece of siding hanging off the house that we would nail back into place. At this point we knew there would be a lot of work to be done for these homeowners!

Roofing

The roof was also leaking and upon inspection of the roof boards in the attic it was also determined that the bathroom vent was venting the bathroom exhaust into the attic.  All the roof boards needed replacing due to mold caused by a leaking roof and exhaust.

Windows

Now onto the windows.  The windows were drafty and cloudy.  All the window seals had been broken.

We replaced the windows with Pella Impervia, New construction windows. These windows are strong and made from fiberglass. The new trend is black and white trim. The windows are white on the inside and black on the outside. The windows are no longer drafty!

Protection from Rain:

Also, the homeowner asked if there was something he could do to protect him from the rain, as he’s trying to enter his home.

What did our customer and I agree upon:

We extended the overhang on the roofline, replaced the plywood on the roof and installed a bathroom exhaust vent that vents through the attic installed a new black architectural roof shingle. The roof shingle comes with a Lifetime warranty.

The roof overhang was extended to assist with the prevention of rainwater from entering the home.  We also installed a canopy over the entry door and used a matte black Metal roof.  The canopy ads curb appeal And protect you from the rain while you’re digging your keys out of your pocket.

Siding:

The Siding the homeowner chose was Everlast composite siding.  This has to be my favorite Siding. Everlast siding protects against the UV rays And his virtually maintenance-free.

Our client is thrilled with the results. The only thing he has left to do now is install a new deck to the front and rear of home.
